17 You therefore, beloved, knowing this beforehand, take care that you are not carried away with the error of lawless people and lose your own stability. 18 But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be the glory both now and to the day of eternity. Amen.
So the answer to error is truth. And particularly the truth of Jesus Christ and the gospel of His grace. We need to be like a tree, firmly rooted in grace and truth, growing and bearing fruit. Then we won’t lose our stability. That’s why Peter wrote his two wonderful letters to the church. And if we can only open these letters, read them and dig into them then we will find great spiritual resources for our day and age – a dazzling gospel in which to stand and to grow.
This study guide takes us through the two letters of Peter in 8 studies, each one giving straightfoward questions to get us into the text and get us thinking about what it’s saying and getting us to apply these truths to our lives (or perhaps better, apply our lives to these truths). These studies are in English (despite the Kiswahili series title!) and appropriate either for small group Bible studies (church fellowship groups) or for 1-to-1 discipleship.
